The maker is Stanley Roberts and the silverware was made in Japan from stainless steel in the 1960s. The pattern is called Bouquet and features a delicate floral design that is intricate and ornate.
Stanley Roberts produced gold electroplated stainless steel flatware in Japan in the 1960s, with Bouquet being one of their popular patterns. The gold electroplating over stainless steel was a technique used to create an elegant look.
Because the flatware is marked "Made in Japan" along with being gold electroplated and made by Stanley Roberts, we can confidently date these from the 1960s production period. In the 1960s Japanese manufacturers were producing high-quality stainless steel products for the American market.
This was purchased as a set of eight place settings plus serving utensils. Only one knife has the maker's stamp, but since these came as a complete set we can confidently say they were all made by Stanley Roberts in Japan from stainless steel with gold wash.
** Please note that only one of the knives has the maker's stamp, so you may or may not get that knife when ordering a single place setting.
These are in good condition for their age and finish with little to no wear on the gold finish and light scuff marks from use.
